It would certainly make a great book to dip into if one wants to follow the traditional way to make Japanese woodblock with a twist. It IS very dry with lot of history, detail and tradition. It covers the tools in detail, making your own traditional paper and lots more in great detail. It is a very thorough book on all the aspects of Japanese woodblock printing. I must say this book was a little hard to get into, but then it isn't a novel.
